The forest comes alive
Version 0.20.0 ships everything from the last month. Then: tutorial stones that show the controls, grass and flowers that bend as you walk through them, background trees, and a real Wizard.
Versions:v0.20.0v0.21.0
This week the big 0.20.0 release came out, collecting a month of work: keys and locked doors, portraits, the Mushroom’s throw, glass menus, Ash’s death animation, chests that hop when they open, and much more. Two days later 0.21.0 followed, and the forest of Realm 1 started to look like a forest.
Tutorial stones
Some signs aren’t meant to be read: they show you what to do. When Ash walks near a tutorial stone (a mossy stone stele) a bubble pops up above it with Ash’s silhouette, the keys to press and a one-word caption, “Move”, “Jump” or “Drop down”, in your language. The keys shown are the ones you actually set, on the keyboard or on the gamepad, and the game doesn’t pause.

Grass that bends, trees that stand
A new foliage layer in Tiled holds grass, wildflowers and bushes that bend when Ash, an enemy or an NPC walks through them, then spring back. Behind them, a set of background trees (a young round tree, an oak, a fir and a big old tree) now dot the meadows of both worlds, half hidden by houses and cliffs. The trees of the parallax background got real trunks too.

The Wizard
The Wizard who gives Ash his first sword finally looks like one: a robed figure with a staff and a long white beard, blinking while he waits, with his own portrait.

And also
- Most of the remaining placeholder tiles were redrawn: crumbling stones, pushable blocks, crates, springs, ladders, ice, spikes, torches, bushes and the inn bed.
- Dying no longer costs coins: for now Ash keeps everything he was carrying.

By the numbers
- 10 commits.
- Versions 0.20.0 (the biggest release so far) and 0.21.0.
